UKTI Defence & Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) is part of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and works closely with industry and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to promote UK equipments, products and services in the best possible way.

The defence and security sectors are an important part of the UK economy, contributing billions of pounds in exports each year, and providing tens of thousands of jobs in the United Kingdom. UK ranks second globally in defence exports

Statistics released by UKTI DSO show that the UK was the second most successful global exporter in 2008, achieving £4.2b, 17% share of the global market for defence exports, close to the longer term target figure of 20%.
